Frequently asked questions

Is biochar the program?

No. Biochar is a catalyst—a way to create early revenue and capacity. The goal is to support long-term food and land-use systems (grazing, grains, agroforestry) that manage landscapes and strengthen communities.

What outcomes are you aiming for?

Better watershed outcomes (runoff, sediment, water quality), local jobs retained through a stewardship economy, and fire-adapted landscapes maintained over time.

Who can participate?

Landowners and operators, land grants and common lands, acequia networks, operators, partners, and funders. If you’re unsure, submit the form and we’ll route you correctly.

Is this a contract?

No. The signup form is an interest and intake form only. Any participation would be based on executed agreements after a fit and feasibility process.

What happens after I sign up?

We contact you within 72 hours to schedule a short intro call. If there’s mutual fit, we map next steps (site visit, partner alignment, pathway plan).
